The Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program of New York State provides up to $5,000 per year to help youth currently or formerly in foster care cover post-secondary education or training expenses.

The Foster Youth College Success Initiative (FYCSI) is a New York State program administered by the Education Department, offering support and financial assistance to foster youth who are either entering or already attending college, helping them achieve academic success.

New York State college students who currently reside in a residence hall and were in foster care or orphaned may qualify for low or no-cost housing during the winter break between the fall and spring semesters.
