This training is designed to help counselors better support students whose special circumstances may affect their financial aid eligibility. Participants will learn about the allowable FAFSA and NYS special circumstances and how these situations can be addressed. The session will also cover how students can work with their school and HESC to properly document and quantify their unique circumstances. By the end, counselors will be equipped with practical strategies to ensure students receive the financial aid they deserve. 

This training is for high school counselors, community organizations, and financial aid professionals. Trainers do not have access to look up or adjust student accounts.
