The NYS FAFSA Completion Initiative provides participating schools with access to their students' FAFSA and TAP completion data. This valuable resource enables schools to identify and support students who may need assistance completing their financial aid applications, helping to ensure that more students secure the funding they need for higher education.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first step is for your school or school district to sign a Data Access and Security Agreement. Once signed, you will need to designate a Chief Authorizing Official (CAO), who will be able to register school staff for the FAFSA Completion Initiative.

For more information, please visit the FAFSA Completion Initiative Information

A school or district can designate multiple Chief Authorizing Officials. If there are no remaining CAOs, a new one will need to be designated. However, anyone previously registered under the former CAO can still access school data.

You can view a list of participating schools and districts. If there is a new superintendent or top-ranking executive, the agreement must be updated with the current name and contact information.
