FAFSA & TAP Are Now Open!

The 2026–27 FAFSA and New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) applications are now available! Applying early can help maximize your chances of receiving the financial aid you need.

After completing your FAFSA, use the link at the end to apply for TAP to access valuable New York State aid.

Financial Aid Reminders

Log in to your HESC Account regularly to check for errors or updates. Be sure to fix any issues quickly to prevent delays in receiving your aid.
If you haven’t submitted your 2025–26 FAFSA and TAP applications, there’s still time to apply.
Students who don't meet citizenship or residency requirements may still qualify for New York State financial aid through alternate pathways, like the NYS DREAM Act or the Alternate Eligibility Path. Visit the Applying for Aid webpage to learn more.

Scholarships Spotlight

October is a great month to start searching and applying for private scholarships, which often have fall deadlines. Don’t just apply for the large value scholarships; every dollar counts!

Helpful search tools include: Fastweb, Scholarships.com, College Board’s Scholarship, and CareerOneStop.
