FAFSA & TAP Are Now Open! Get Started Today!

The 2026–27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) applications are now open! Submitting your applications early helps you maximize financial aid opportunities for college, so don’t wait!

What you’ll need to do:

• Gather all necessary documents and create your StudentAid.gov Account.
• Complete your FAFSA application
• Then, complete your TAP application using the state application link at the end of the FAFSA.

Why apply early?

• You’ll know your aid eligibility sooner.
• Gives you time to correct unexpected errors or delays.
• Colleges use this information to build your financial aid package.

Students who don't meet citizenship or residency requirements may still qualify for New York State financial aid through alternate pathways, like the Senator José Peralta NYS DREAM Act or the Alternate Eligibility Path. Visit the Applying for Aid webpage to learn more.
